Draft for review. This text is not final and not yet in force. Until it is published, contact us before you pay or share personal data.
1. Summary
DubLocal Studio processes your videos on your own computer. Our server only knows your account, your license and the computer you activated; it never receives your videos, scripts or audio.
2. What we collect
- Account: email address, display name, a password hash if you set a password, your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google, and whether your email is verified.
- License and devices: license dates, activation codes you redeem, the name of the computer you connect and when it was last active, how many jobs of each kind it starts per day (never what is in them), and your signed-in website sessions.
- Payments: order number, amount, currency and status. Card and PayPal details are handled by PayPal (or PayOS for VietQR transfers); we never see or store card numbers. If you pay with Binance Pay, we keep the transaction ID you send us and see your payment in our Binance account.
- Support and error reports: when you click "Send error report" in Studio, the report you send, including technical logs. Studio may also send automatic error reports with the app version and error details; they do not contain your videos or scripts.
- Free trial by SMS: if you verify your phone for the free trial, the code is sent and checked by Google Firebase. We keep the verified number with your account so that each number and each account receives one SMS, and so support can check it when you ask for help. Only DubLocal admins can see it; we never use it for marketing.
- Server logs: IP address, browser and time of requests, kept for security and abuse prevention.
3. What stays on your computer
Videos, projects, transcripts, translations and generated voices stay on your PC. When you choose to translate with ChatGPT, the dialogue text is sent to OpenAI under your own ChatGPT account. When you download a video from a link, Studio contacts that website directly.
4. Why we use it
- To run your account and license (performance of our contract with you).
- To take payments and keep accounting records (contract and legal obligations).
- To keep the service secure and fix errors (our legitimate interests).
- To send you account and service emails. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
5. Who we share it with
- Our hosting provider (servers in Vietnam) and our email delivery provider.
- PayPal, PayOS and Binance, to process payments.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, and Google Firebase, which sends the SMS code if you verify your phone for the free trial.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6. International transfers
Our servers are in Vietnam, so your data is processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
7. How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires. Logs and error reports are deleted after [retention period, to be confirmed].
8. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws)
- Access and portability: ask us for a copy of your data.
- Correction: change your email or name from your account page, or ask us.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your account and its data.
- Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit a use of your data.
- You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use a sign-in session cookie, a dl_lang cookie that remembers the language you picked, and your browser's local storage for small interface preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
10. Children
DubLocal is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
